In this era of call-centers’ boom, the Indian educated young generation people mostly have enough money in their pockets, so they spend for luxurious goods. However, in India, branded products are much costlier than unbranded and unwarranted Chinese products.
The young generation wants to enjoy everything immediately and simultaneously, thus they prefer buying unbranded Chinese products considering their cheap price. In some cases, (say) in case of cell phones, a good featured modern Chinese cell phone costs almost 1/3rd of that of a branded and warranted product. Thus, the young folk do not mind to go for such products. As they know that within a few months they will sell this out and get a new one.
Branded products are better considering their warranty and servicing facilities in India. But the multinational vendors’ pricing policy coupled by Indian government’s taxation norms, zoom up their prices for these products. Adding to this, still now many vendors of branded products have failed to stretch their service facilities to the remote areas, which are far from the cities.
So, the potential buyers prefer unbranded products. Any multinational preferring to sell their products in India, should care for these things. Quality is very important, side by side price and service facilities too influence the buyers’ interest.
